Description: Panelists will engage in conversation about the role of faculty in preparing future professionals. What can universities and students do to alleviate the disconnect between academic training and professional practice? Where do disparities exist? What are the major policy concerns? What cultural competencies address the specific needs of Black disabled communities? What new research studies address the issues?

Faculty from local universities discuss critical academic training and preparedness for working within Black disabled communities. They provide specific strategies that can be implemented to address the disparities in trained professionals and service providers.
