Al-Nisa Lawson-Herod, AB, BA

     Al-Nisa Lawson-Herod earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Public Relations, and Journalism, from Monmouth University in 1997. Al-Nisa has worked in the childcare field since 2010 as a Lead Teacher when she began her career in Education upon moving to North Carolina from New Jersey. Al-Nisa Lawson-Herod is not only a parent of a child with disabilities, but she is also a Resource Advocate with the Arc of NC. She has been involved with programs like First in Families, The Autism Society, and other programs within the NC area. She is dedicated and passionate about providing excellent service, assisting others, connecting people with resources, and exceeding organizational goals within the IDD community. Al-Nisa Lawson-Herod has expertise in communications skills and resource advocacy. She has extensive experience and consideration in attentiveness, time management skills, conflict resolution, and critical thinking.
